What I am stitching now…

Hip Belts: Do I mean a belt you wear on your hips or do I mean a super cool belt??? I mean both! I love, love, love these fashion-forward belts from Colors of Praise! Marie’s juxtaposition of pattern and color is awesome. I’ve just started stitching #751 and am really enjoying it. It’s fun to change threads all the time. I’m using Silk & Ivory, which is usually a no-no for belts but it’s rather tight on 14 mesh and frankly I’ve got tons of the colors in my stash.

Won’t I look adorable in my hip belt? I’m picturing white jeans and a white tee…cute needlepoint shoes, too!

Happy stitching,
Susan

I really like #651. Why is S&I a no-no for belts? I've stitched a few with it as well as Spencer's collar. I'm about to start a new belt- what thread do you recommend?

Oh I just saw this comment…sorry for the delay. Some uptight stitchers don’t like S&I for belts because it’s not as strong as wool. I think it’s fine. Especially if you use it on 18 mesh…it’s a little harder to pull through on the smaller holes but I think it’s plenty durable. In fact, I used it on Chris’ Superman belt and it’s held up really well.

I just got the buckle for the Colors of Praise belt…not long until it’s ready to wear!
