When deadlines loom…

Posted in Christmas, Uncategorized on 25.09.11

… I call in an emergency stitcher! Yes, that is my sweet husband, Chris, putting two extra “sacrifice” rows around my napkin rings! It’s Sunday night and the October 1st deadline for Christmas finishing is just 6 days away. That’s approximately 144 hours away and I do have to sleep/work/attend to my family for some of those hours. The deadline is the same date every year…why do we stitchers put ourselves in the position of pulling “Needlepoint All Nighters”???

Thanks, honey, for helping out.

Why is Buster just lying there? Can’t he do a few extra rows on my Whimsy and Grace Napoleonic bee napkin rings??? Sheesh.

PS You have until October 31st for full-sized Christmas stockings and belts with traditional leather…

Happy (frantic) stitching,
Susan

We’ve just had a British Invasion at The Point of It All! New artists Kirk and Hamilton from London have sent a brilliant (I’m really getting into this British thing!) trunk show. Check out their website by clicking here.

The canvases will be here until October 8th. All of them are 20% off. Browse the designs and come by the shop or drop me an email!

Happy stitching,
Susan

Stash Organizer software

Posted in tips on 12.09.11

OMG…look what I just discovered: www.thestashcan.com. It’s software that organizes your stash. This could change my life! Disclaimer: I haven’t yet downloaded this program; I’ve never used it; and I was not asked to promote the product. I simply heard about it and wanted to share it with On Point readers.  If you download it, please let us know how it works!

We’re off to see the wizard

Posted in beyond pillows, featured artist, fibers on 06.09.11

How cute are these mini Wizard of Oz characters?! Objectively adorable! New from Kathy Schenkel. Make them into little tiny stand-ups or turn them into ornaments for your Oz Christmas tree…wait, you don’t have a Wizard of Oz tree…shameful!

Lots of opportunities to use different fibers…Fuzzy Stuff for the Cowardly Lion; Balger for the Ruby Slippers; Neon Rays Ribbon for Dorothy’s pinafore; Petite Peluche for Toto…oh so much fun to stitch!

I know I’m not supposed to take home every canvas that arrives at the shop but sometimes it’s soooo hard to resist. (Note to husband: Chris, honey, I’m really trying to restrain myself…but do NOT look in my lunch box tonight!)

Happy stitching,
Susan
