Amanda Lawford pillow on chair

Miriam, a Point of It All customer and outstanding stitcher, just picked up this marvelous pillow. She had selected the Splendor silk colors to coordinate with the Pierre Deux fabric she used to recover her living room chair. Doesn’t it look amazing?!

The canvas is from Amanda Lawford. Miriam used the Byzantine stitch for the border. The fabric is reversible so we used the predominately yellow side for the gusset and back of the pillow. The cording is from one of our trim books–we have tons of trim and fabric books.

Well done, Miriam!

Happy stitching,
Susan

Jingle all the way

Are you in the mood for Christmas?! Well who cares if you are in the mood…it’s coming! I am listening to Christmas music as I type.

I love this canvas from Amanda Lawford and isn’t our finishing adorable? It stitched it in a flash…love that skip tent stitch! (All you do is stitch every other stitch…goes so fast!)

A note about dyelots…THEY ARE IMPORTANT! Check out the green area under the left reindeer…I very clearly used a different dyelot! I confess: I thought I had enough Silk + Ivory to finish the piece if I was really, really frugal but no. So do as I say not as I do…

Happy stitching,
Susan

Back from Market: Baltimore

I drove up to Baltimore yesterday for a Cash & Carry market…I handed over the cash and the artists handed over the canvases! I got great canvases from Jean Smith…a symphony of florals. I’ve clipped them together so you can look through them like a mini trunk show…come by the shop! Or if you are far away, peruse her website to see her sophisticated take on flowers.

Lots of new pieces from Amanda Lawford too…this wonderful Santa (see above) has to be ordered but it is SPECTACULAR! Really a show stopper. I can’t wait for him to arrive. Absolutely stunning.

Terrific canvases from Sue of Cooper Oaks…as always.

Time for a new canvas? Yes! Happy shopping…Happy stitching,
Susan
