I ended up stitching the background in Gloriana (an overdyed thread) in Diagonal Mosaic. That stitch went quickly and was easy to compensate (always a plus.) Now I am working on the ghost canvas by Kathy Schenkel. She has marvelous Halloween canvases...click hereto see some of them.
I think it's fun to work on a piece related to the upcoming holiday even though it won't be finished in time to display.
